Certain states are facing challenge to start is jab for vaccine in 18 to 44 year age group which was initially planned to start from 1st May, statement received from Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma “We are yet to get the vaccine. I am expecting some information by today (Friday)”.
Adding to that he informed “ We have already placed orders for one crore doses each with the Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech. We are on it. The central government is talking to vaccine manufacturers and accordingly, states will be provided with vaccines and we will purchase the same,”
According to sources, who have studied his tweet which describes, “Assam gets 5 lakh + #COVID19Vaccine by GOI (371480 Covishield; 128830 Covaxin) for 18+ people. We’re procuring it immediately through funds of Assam Arogya Nidhi”.“Assam is vaccinating close to one lakh person every day,”
Currently on 6 states are going to start and keep its schedule in India to start its jab from 1st May 2021, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Odisha; even they have some special district to start with.
