Covid 19 Impact: Yamaha India plans to suspend production for 2 weeks

India Yamaha have announced to take production pause for 2 weeks starting from 15th May 2021, where company have released information that shut down is being taken placed in lieu of covid-19 led disruptions. Presently company have production units in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu.

“After a comprehensive review and in view of the rising Covid-19 cases in the country, India Yamaha Motor has decided to suspend manufacturing operations at its plants in Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu) and Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) from 15 May 2021 to 31 May 2021,”, as per press release.

Decision is being taken to make utmost priority to employees health and safety where it would work closely with its dealers and suppliers to minimize the impact of shutdown and focus on optimisation of stock.

Upfront employee to dealer network or corporate office with some regional offices will be open based upon the work, sothat business opportunities will continue by keep work from home option available.

Similar decision is already being taken by Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Honda Cars where they had started their pause of production starting from last week of April, and utilising this tenure as maintenance activities.
